Adult beetle on wheat grains. 

Size: 10-15mm

Shape: Oval

Colour: Very dark brown or black

Antennae: Medium with a loose club

Distinguishing features: Live beetles are slow moving

Larvae are pests of: Old cereals but are also found in birds' nests

These are not museum pests

Often found: From birds' nests and disused chimney flues, particularly in late spring/early summer
